Gut-associated (A and B), superficial adherent (C and D), and mucosal endocytosed (E and F) bacterial counts were determined on PI days 7 and 35 by aerobic culturing. Bacterial counts were examined in segments of jejunum (A, C, E) and colon (B, D, F) in each mouse. Each data point corresponds to one animal. Bars indicate the median bacterial counts.
