Influence of different CaCl2 and EDTA concentrations on the cleavage of recombinant E-cadherin by HpHtrA. 100 ng rCdh1 were incubated with 200 ng HpHtrA and, where indicated, with different concentrations of (a) EDTA or (b) CaCl2. Full-length rCdh1 (rCdh1FL) and rCdh1 fragments were detected by western blot using an antibody against the EC5 domain of E-cadherin. HpHtrA was probed with a polyclonal antibody to show equal loading of the protease
