Quantification of cell-associated (adhesion) and intracellular (invasion) levels of C. jejuni infecting Caco-2 wild-type (wt) and occludin knockout cells. The two cell lines were infected for 12 h with the indicated strains using an MOI of 100. The total number of cell-associated (a) and intracellular bacteria (b) was determined by gentamycin protection assay.
