From: Establishment of a gnotobiotic pig model of Clostridioides difficile infection and disease
Study timeline. At 5 days of age (PID0), 5 gnotobiotic pigs received 1 × 105 spores of C. difficile while 4 pigs received PBS as a negative control. Throughout the study timeline diarrhea scores, weight, and rectal swabs were obtained daily. At PID5, 3 pigs from the C. difficile group and 2 from the PBS group were euthanized. The remaining pigs from each group were euthanized at PID10
